Being Still Amid a Busy Life

A woman has a very busy life. There are kids, family, husbands, bosses, friends, pets, finances, homes and more that take up her time.

Studies show that not only is the average woman busy from the time she gets up to the tie she goes to bed, but she also is reducing her sleep time because she has too much to do.

Does this sound like you?

You must learn to slow down. It takes self-determination and control. But it can happen.

Being busy all the time not only affects a woman's physical life, but their spiritual life as well. I know. It's really hard to slow down for anything, even for God.

God can help put your life in perspective. To do so, you must be still and know God. When you take time to be with God, you can build a better relationship with Him. When you focus on God, you can remember how vast He is. God knows everything. Always remember that.

God is everywhere. He's the focus of the universe. Knowing all of this really puts your life into perspective, don't you think?

When you are still, you are refreshed spiritually. You gain a new sense of how important you are to God.

Just think about it.

Be still. Listen for God's voice. He loves you. God whispers his love, support and reassurance to you.

Can you do it? Can you be still enough to hear God's voice?

Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the Earth! -- Psalm 46:10

I SO needed to read this today. I've been getting fewer and fewer hours of sleep as the school year has progressed just trying to squeeze everything into a day. I've got to stop. It's running me ragged. It's not productive. I need to slow it down! --Lisa

I've found that even if I take 2 minutes in the morning to pray or read a quick devotional while the house is still quiet it makes my day so much smoother. I start off on the right foot which is always helpful. But I still need to slow down!

I was just having a conversation on facebook about the actress Kerry Washington's recent announcement that she's pregnant, just at the height of her career. I made a comment, wonder why it all seems to happen at the same time so often.

The response I got from one of my followers - Because she's a woman and she can do it all!

But I hate that women are expected to "do it all" cause there's no magic spell to accomplish this feat. It means never having a moment for yourself, never having time to unwind or even to take a breath.

But I suppose the closest thing to a magic spell is taking a moment to ask God for strength and staying power.

Lisa, don't sacrifice sleep. Slow down. Twingle Mommy, what a great way to start your day. Tinseltine, God may not be "magic" but He is all powerful. and only He can move the mountains in your life.

I have been browsing online more than 3 hours lately, but I
never found any fascinating article like yours.
It's beautiful value sufficient for me. In my view, if
all web owners and bloggers made just right content as
you did, the web will likely be much more useful than ever before.

Hmm it appears like your blog ate my first comment (it was extremely long) so I guess I'll just sum it up what
I submitted and say, I'm thoroughly enjoying your blog.
I too am an aspiring blog blogger but I'm still new to the whole thing.
Do you have any points for first-time blog writers?
I'd genuinely appreciate it.
