Where do these people get off on preying on people and their emotions?  I'm burning up right now with anger for all of those who received this in their e-mail today and may not have as much knowledge that I do and will follow the instructions provided. 

For God's sake, please, if anyone of you or know of someone who does receive this kind of letter, delete it immediately. I realize they come in waves. But, it's been a dry spell for awhile, so some of you out there, or maybe not my readers, but someone you may know, might think this was the real deal. That they were rich. They could retire. They could have everything in the world they ever wanted.

Is that what makes us happy? To have worldly goods? To have the biggest house, the best car, and send our children to the best schools? Do you want to fill your life with so many "cherished" objects that all you do is spend all lay lounging and reading while you watch your maid dust them?

God wants so much more than that for you. He loves you so much you can't even imagine how much. God's love isn't about WHAT you have but WHAT YOU ARE MADE OF. 

How are you going to cart all your belongings to heaven with you? God won't want them in His house, anyway. They don't go with the decor. 

God wants you to pack your heart, your mind, and your soul with all that defines you. Those things you can take with you to heaven. 

So weigh this next sentence carefully.

"I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." - Matthew 17:20-21

Our faith may seem small and insignificant (especially in times of hardship and testing), but as our faith grows, so does our potential to overcome great obstacles and achieve noble goals.

Have faith.

Believe.

Trust.

Faith is the key to living a life beyond what you can ask or imagine. You don't need money. You don't need fine jewelry or fancy clothes. You need only what God asks of you. "throw out the guilty, shame-laden, sin-encrusted stuff and fill you with Jesus."

You only need you and your heart filled with the love for Jesus and yourself and others.

Pray on that.

The Best Way to Know God

God asks that you let your body, mind and spirit relax in His Presence. He loves you. Can you imagine how much God loves you?

I bet you can't.

I know I can't fathom the depth of God's love.

Although He tells us how much.

First, let's find out why. He tells us in 1 Peter 5:7 "Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you."

How much does God love us? We have to search Ephesians 3:16-19 where the apostle Paul writes "I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with the power through His Spirit in your inner being. So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge - that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Can you imagine now?

I still can't.

But I can feel. I can feel God's love.

Think of the deepest ocean, the highest mountain, the widest valley, the longest road and you still wouldn't come close to how much God really loves us.

Thank God for His love. Thank God for His blessings. Thank God for Him.

I thank Him for you.

When you sit quietly in God's presence, you are opening yourself to receive God's blessing.

Can you feel it enveloping you and making your heart swell?

God travels with you through all your journeys. The high road. The bumpy road. The rough times. The good times. Everything you do is because of Him. Can you understand that? Can you accept that you need God?

When you have learned to thank God for all the hard times and the good times. When you have learned to thank God for your difficult journeys then, and only then, have you realized that to need God is the key to knowing Him, intimately.

That is the gift of all gifts.

This is how God loves us. "He tends His flock like a shepherd. He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to His heart; He gently leads those that have young." Isaiah 40:11

God is Watching

Have you heard about the new program cities are implementing at traffic lights? They city is installing cameras at intersections that will take pictures of the license plate of any car that runs a red light.

Any car.

Then, those car owners get their ticket in the mail.

Easy. Peasy.

What's the message?

"We are watching you."

Pretty powerful image, don't you think?

Now, imagine the eye of God.

Whoa. Huh?

He is all powerful. All seeing. All knowing. He is EVERYWHERE! In your mind. In your heart. Watching you.

Do you think of God like that traffic camera? Waiting for you to do something bad?

Please, don't think like that.

God loves you. He watches OVER you. God loves you so much He can't takes His eyes off you.

He isn't waiting for you to do something wrong so He can condemn you for it.

God watches so He can find just the right ways to use your faithful heart and committed outlook in His world. He looks for those with character and faithfulness.

God's eyes are watching you today. As He sees you obeying Him, He'll continue to fill your life with His strength, power, and love.

"The Lord is constantly watching everyone, and He gives strength to those who faithfully obey Him." - 2 Chronicles 16:9

Getting Ready for Vacation

I'm supposed to be excited. I'm leaving for fifteen days of glorious vacation. A trip to see my children and grandchildren. I drive through one of the nation's best national parks and then another visit with my mother and sisters before flying back home.

But, here I am. Sick. Flat on my back sick with some sort of bronchitis or pneumonia or some other bronchial infection. I'm hacking a lung. Haven't been able to talk for 5 days and coughing so hard it hurts. My body aches, my ears ache, my eyes even ache.

It's torture to even write this blog, but I do so to keep you informed about what's going on and I haven't written in a while and it was sort of bumming me out.

On the up side, even though I have no energy for anything, I' still positive and upbeat. I have no depressive thoughts or dark dreary images traipsing through my mind. I am down about being sick, but that's all it is. Just bummed about being sick and all the things I still need to do before I leave. I've had to rearrange my schedule to fit in a doctor's appointment, which I will go to today. Hopefully she will have some sort of miracle drug that will make me better quickly and before I have to leave next week.

I definitely don't want to be carrying this onto an airplane.

I have packing lists to review. To do lists to review. To do lists to complete. I have a dog and a bird I need to prepare to go to boarding. And all the packing that that entails. I have to make sure they have enough food and treats and such for the fifteen days we are gone plus the extra days they'll be in boarding due to flights coming in extra late and not being able to pick them up right away.

I've had to get three week's worth of medication planned out for me. Taking it four times a day makes for some big med planners. I had to fill them all up and see which ones still need meds and how I'm going to convince a pharmacist that I only need one more week's worth to complete my vacation and I won't be back here during the middle of my vacation to get my prescription filled then, so could I get it filled early?

At least I have a neighbor coming to check on the house every day and bringing in our mail. And we have a friend coming to check on the pool as well.

But, all that aside, first things first. I need to get well. I've spent the last four days in bed and will probably spend some of today there as well, except when I have to keep my doctor appointments. I have to see my psychiatrist today as well, and I can't cancel that appointment. I already had to cancel my therapist appointment. I'm running out of days to reschedule before I leave for my vacation.

I need to be well for my vacation so I don't take my sickness with me and give it to my kids and grandkids. What a horrible present to leave with them. I want to be able to enjoy my visits and have fun playing with my grandbabies.

So, I'll accept all good wishes and prayers for a quick recovery and a safe trip. I need all that I can get. I'll try to post as much as I can about where I am during vacation and then get back to regularly scheduled posts.
