New Year's Resolutions

As 2008 fades away, and a clean slate in front of you, it's the time of your life to let go and be more than you'd ever dreamed of being.

2009 is a new year to set new writing goals and resolutions. What are yours going to be? Find an agent? A publisher? Finish a book?

It's the first day of the first year of a new unwritten future. A blank page. You can write your own future.

In the loosely interpreted words of Natasha Bedingfield and her song "Unwritten", today is when your book begins. The rest is unwritten. You have a blank page before you. No one else has your book inside them. It's your gift. You must release your inhibitions and go for it.

And, you will get there, one step at a time. Keep your goals firmly set in your mind. Stay focused. Use the support of your writing networks. And, set your goals high. Reach for the stars!

So, what are your top five writing goals or resolutions for 2009?

Mine are:
1. Obtain a publishing contract for OUT FOR JUSTICE
2. Finish edits on 3 short stories and find them a published home.
3. Write erotic story for Ravenous Romance.
4. Enter writing contests.
5. Write at least 5 chapters of DRIVING ME CRAZY.

I'd like to hear what yours are.

Take more photos! When our daughter died late September in going through photos we found we didn't have as many current ones as we would like, or as many family group photos. Thankfully she had a lot uploaded to her Facebook page that we could download.

I like the part about today being the start of a new book and the rest is unwritten.

My short term goal is to get through bridal expo this weekend.

Long term is to be more organized and focused on the way my time is dispersed.

I love your quote about creating the book that's inside you and the start of a New Year is an auspicious time to do just that. I wish you great success with your goals and a happy and healthy 2009!

How great of you Vicki, to make us publicly declare our goals. I have read that this type of accountability will encourage each of us to work towards them with that much more effort.

My goals:

1. finish my first book and get it published.

2. publish the first of the Traveling Bob travel guides.

3. lose 50 pounds

4. reorganize my office

5. spend more time with family (husband, kids, grandkids)
