Five Minute Friday - She

It's time for the "Five Minute Friday" blogging post. The inspiration comes from Lisa Jo Baker

What you do is set your timer for five minutes and write whatever you want according to the prompt Lisa places on her blog every Friday. Then you go back, link your blog and give support to those who posted before you. And, we connect on Twitter with #FiveMinuteFriday.

Ready.
Set.
Go.

She

The first time I saw her, she was just a tiny thing, wrapped in a blanket with a sweet little cap on her head covering her dark hair.

She had large expressive eyes that took in everything around her. I held her close, whispering loving words into her ears that only she could hear. Then I placed her carefully into my husband's arms. He  held her close, while I hovered nearby. She never cried.

She is so loved. Our first granddaughter. She is growing into a bright young lady. Already at the top of her class in pre-school. She is so excited about learning. She gives me hope for a better future.

I miss her so much, as she lives far away on the other side of the United States, in Arizona, while I live in Florida. I don't see her often, but I love to talk to her on the phone. She calls me "NeNe", has from the moment she could speak. It's endearing.

She makes me want to be a better person.

STOP

SHE is beautiful by the way

Katherine, thanks for posting. It's hard on grandparents when the kids are far away. I miss mine so much. Yes, she is beautiful, isn't she? Have a blessed day.

Hi! It's your next door neighbor at FMF. I must say, I am looking forward to this in my life. Everyone says it's the best thing ever, and your writing sure seems to testify to this. I rejoice with you at God's goodness in your life. And....I too am a fellow Floridian. I'm figuring it's a very attractive place that grandchildren would want to visit. Am I right? :)

thanks for your posts, Chris, Lisa, and Lisa. I'm very proud of my beautiful little granddaughter. God has blessed me abundantly with wonderful grandchildren. Yes, Florida is a great playground for grandchildren. When they are old enough to travel, we will get them out here.

Oh what a beautiful post. My daughter and my mom try and talk everyday on the phone. My mother lives in Arizona, and we live in Colorado. I wish we could see her often, but since we can't we chat and I make sure to give her pictures of our sweet little one. I enjoyed this sweet post. Thanks for sharing. Stopping by from the SITS site.

Hi Sheila, Hi Stephanie, thanks for dropping by and reading my blog and commenting. Sheila, I too have a new grandson, due early November. That will make 4 for me. I hope both of you have a blessed day!

This is so sweet Vicki. My daughter is my mother's only grandchild. We live in VA and mom is back home in California. My mother can certainly relate to this Five Minute Friday post.
