I'm having a great day. I'm sitting and listening to my ipod, which is currently playing the Doors, while I sit at my computer, with my dog at my feet. The sun is streaming through the trees and into my window.
What a day.
Later I'm going to lay out by the pool and relax and do some reading. Life in Florida. Nice, huh?
I'm not telling you all this, to feel envious, or to brag, but to show you that when you have a good thing, don't let it pass you by. Grab a hold of it. Enjoy it. Savor it. Live it. Don't think you'll just wait for the next time.
What if next time didn't come?
Live each day to the fullest. Take advantage of the opportunities you have now, don't wait for another to come.
I used to live that way. And, what did it get me? Way too much stress. Sick. And a terribly unhealthy life, both mentally and physically. It's not a good way to live. You can't live that way for long. Something's gotta give, and it's usually a breakdown of some sort, either mentally or physically.
Mine was both.
I learned the hard way. I don't want you to make the same mistakes. Give yourself permission to have fun. Take a few extra minutes out of your busy life and give them to yourself. Start small. Work your way to giving yourself more and more time until you're able to find the appropriate balance in your life.
That's what's it's all about.
Balance.
And, while you're finding that balance, blow some bubbles. No one can be stressed while blowing bubbles!
Have a great day!

Vicki--
Thank you for your words of wisdom--we so often forget to have fun and this is such an important part of life. Actually, if you don't enjoy your time on earth, you may live to regret it. You are, in the words of our youth, RIGHT ON!
Did you write this for me? I spent Saturday inside a kiddy pool with my two grandbeauties. You would have thought it was Olympic size the way we played. For once, the children said before I did, "Let's go in gan maw, we're tired." I can't remember having wrapped myself around a day as much as this one. Thank you for reminding us to stay in the moments. They don't make Hallmarks for this kind of happiness!
It took me a long time to find balance in my life. I wanted to share my experience and advice with others so that they don't make the same mistakes I did. Find your balance now, before it's too late.
Yes, enjoy your time on earth now.
JJ, I'm so glad you had such a good time with your grandbeauties. What a picture you paint of that day. It's one you'll always remember. File it away, and you can take it out and remember it again, when another day brings you rain and stress.
Thank you. I spent yesterday boiling in 105 degree heat until 7 p.m., came home beat and unhappy because it's too hot to sell art and stressed because I didn't sell art!
I needed this attitude adjustment to get through today's blistering heat.
I'm going to enjoy my neighbor, who's a friend getting his singing voice back after a severe injury. We kiddingly talked about doing "art show karaoke" - well, I'm taking some cds and a player and we're going to have some fun today!
BTW, I really got a lot out of your interview with Bev on Blog Talk Radio! You are one courageous woman!
